Petrol Grades for grey or red Holden motors

My tank was almost empty when I filled her up tonight (the EH red 149 motor). I used BP 95 Petrol. I had the choice of Unleaded 91, 95 or 98. I chose the 95, and then drove about 20 klms. It seemed to go better than with the Unleaded 91 I usually use. Anyone have a similar experience lately?

Tappet adjustment

In an effort to make the grey motor in the EJ quieter I asked Frank Tedesco to adjust the clearances. It is quite a quick job , and gave a big improvement in performance as well!

Changing Differential ratio

Has anyone changed their diff ratio lately? I wish to know the what would be the result if I changed my EJ diff from the standard 3.888:1 to perhaps an EH diff of 3.55 or 3.36:1. If any one has done this please let me know what happened with regard to acceleration, top speed and fuel consumption. The engine would remain a standard 138 cu.in.
